The Nichols Adventure: Guess Who Is 2!

4/10/11: Well Austyn turned 2 almost a month ago (sorry for the late post)! She celebrated her "happy birthday time" with her family and friends and was so excited leading up to the days of her birthday! She's at a stage where she gets really excited about things and lights up and squeals when we talk about them, like celebrating anyone's birthday (we've already celebrated daddy, Tyson and Tannor's birthdays since her party). She likes to help open the presents and eat cake. At Tannor's birthday a few nights ago she got a piece of cake, which was significantly smaller than everyone else' piece. She didn't mind until I sat her at the table with Sawyer and saw her big piece of cake - then she wouldn't eat hers! She sat at the table for a good few minutes just looking down with a sad pout. Of course I gave in and gave her mine! That darn pout is so precious ~ she's been working on it since she was born!

Austyn started gymnastics last weekend. She was really excited the days before and couldn't wait to go to gymnastics class. She was really shy for her first class but loosened up after a few minutes. She wouldn't let mommy put her down in the beginning but daddy had the magic touch and got her to walk on the balance beam and bounce on the trampoline. We just had our 2nd class and she did much better! She did somersaults and even did a flip on the bar (with Coach Kelly and mommy's help)! It's fun to see her little miniature body in a leotard.

Everyday on our way to school we see school buses drive by and she always talks about how she wants to ride the school bus. Since she's not quite old enough to be riding school buses yet, we did the next best thing - the Trolley bus. We took a ride into downtown Ojai last weekend so Austyn could ride on the "bus." She was so excited not to have to be in her car-seat!

Austyn is getting to experience lots of new adventures lately. She went bowling for her first time last month. She didn't like it - she said it was scary and too loud! The next thing she wants to do is ride on the horse carriage because we saw one walking down the street today! Maybe that will be our next adventure!

Easter is right around the corner and Austyn can't wait for the Easter Bunny to bring her eggs! This will be a fun Easter this year.

Uncle Kirk (Chief) and Auntie Jody came to visit last weekend. Austyn had a fun time playing and getting messy eating spaghetti at Papa Lennons for dinner. It was so fun to see them since it's been almost a year. We were sad to see them head back to Oregon and disappointed that we forgot to take pictures while they were here. Next time!

We also got to visit with my friend Tori last week. It was really fun seeing her!
