Summer 2012

September 30: Wow this summer has really flown by! So I know it's been quite a while since we've posted anything (6 months)! Well we've been having fun and enjoying our summer!

Austyn seems like she's older than 3 1/2 sometimes (she likes to say that she's already 4 because that's what she will turn on her next birthday)!So let's see, she started her 2nd year of preschool last month and is not as excited about this class as she was last year! She always has fun once she's there but the drop offs have been a little tough. She will only wear dresses every day; her hair has to be in either a braid or a headband (with a big flower on it); her favorite songs are Firework by Katy Perry, Never Grow Up by Taylor Swift and Beach in Hawaii by Ziggy Marley; she loves to play with our ears (which drives us crazy!) and she is doing really well with writing and spelling her name (we are still working on Y and N)!

3 Years Old!

3/18/12: Austyn just turned 3 and had a fun party with lots of her friends! We played games and Austyn celebrated all week long! She's growing up fast - too fast sometimes!

A few of her favorites right now include:
Food: Mac-n-cheese (or any cheese for that matter)
Colors: Pink & purple
Words/Phrases: Actually, I'm thinking, yessiree, mama...excuse me, I'm being patient, and no!
Things to do: Reading books (and picking out new books at the library), playing mommy & baby (she's always the mommy), ballet, picking out her own clothes (always skirts & dresses~ sometimes at the same time), having a "special treat" after school (a few m&m's, chocolate chips or a hershey kiss), playing on the swings

A cute story: We were at the grocery store about a week ago and I accidentally bumped into Nathan as we were paying for our groceries. Austyn said to me... mommy look at my eyes. I know you didn't mean to hurt daddy, now look at my eyes - give daddy a gently touch (and she put my hand on Nathan to touch him gently)!... She did this (very seriously) for a few minutes and we couldn't stop giggling. Her teachers do this at school when someone gets hurt. It was definitely a moment to remember!
