Santa Scares Me!

We took Austyn to see Santa one more time and this is how it went ...

Happy Holidays!

12/16/09: The Christmas season is here and we have already started celebrating! Austyn went to pick out her first Christmas tree, met Santa (who she does not like at all), and opened presents with Nathan's family in Ojai. We are enjoying every moment and making lots of memories. Austyn has now met two Santa Clause's and each one was greeted with a scared scream! The first Santa we met didn't go over real well - Austyn got a scared look on her face when she saw him, then screamed once we made the hand off. When she met the second Santa she was okay for about 5 seconds until she turned around and saw his jolly red face and big white beard! Needless to say, mommy had to sit on Santa's lap so we could get a photo.

We got to spend some time with Kris, Debbie, Kevyn, Kayla and Kirstyn last weekend, and Austyn got to meet her uncle, aunt and cousins. We hadn't seen my brother since our wedding (5 years ago) so it was great to see him and his family.

Happy Thanksgiving

12/5/09: Austyn celebrated her first Thanksgiving last weekend at Lake Casitas in Ojai. We spent the weekend with Papa Ken, Gramee & Gramps, and the Garnsey family. We had a feast, but no turkey for Austyn- just yams!

Austyn is now getting 2 more teeth (one on the top and one more on the bottom), which brings her to a total of 4 teeth now! She is getting around quickly and just last week she learned how to crawl up onto things (our suitcase, boxes, etc...).

At the Zoo!

11/22/00: We took Austyn on her first trip to the zoo. She really noticed the flamingos, birds, animal statues and one of the orangutans came right up to the glass to say hi! Here are some pictures from the day.

Crawling Like Crazy!

11/12/09: Austyn is now 8 months old and crawling all over the place! She gets around quick and can now pull herself up onto things. It's all happening so fast - we've had to baby-proof everything and watch every move she makes!

She just learned how to clap (patty-cake)! She's also graduated to a big-girl bath and we had to lower her crib all the way down so she can't fall out. She is growing up and getting such a little personality. We're having lots of fun waiting to see what new trick she learns next!

Halloween

11/2/09: We spent Austyn's first Halloween in Ojai. Austyn dressed up as a little Indian (along with Sawyer and Hadley) and Tannor and Mason dressed as cowboys! We had fun carving pumpkins and trick or treating.

Pumpkin Patch

10/25/09: Austyn visited her first pumpkin patch and loved the pumpkins! She even got to eat a little hay, see the animals in the petting zoo, and bring home her very first pumpkin.
