Growing Belly- 29 weeks

12/29/08: She's now 15 inches long and weighs 2 1/2 pounds (same as a butternut squash). I feel like I've been growing bigger each week and it's getting harder to bend over and put my shoes on! I can't believe I'll be at 30 weeks in a few days- wow! She likes to kick a lot and it's pretty strange (but neat) to feel a hard little foot or elbow press up against your hand when you put it on my belly. The doctor had us start doing "kick counts" starting at 28 weeks to make sure I get 10 kicks in an hours time, but I usually get the 10 kicks within about 10 or 15 minutes (usually after dinner). She's a mover!

We had our 2nd childbirth prep class last week and watched some videos on labor and birth. Wow ~ good thing we have about 10 more weeks to prepare for that! We like the classes though, they're informative and we get to spend time with other couples that are all due in February or March.

Growing Belly- 28 weeks

12/22/08: Merry Christmas everyone! I am now officially in the third trimester and the baby is about 14.8" long and weighs 2.25 pounds (same weight as a Chinese cabbage). Everything is going good but I have found myself to be more clumsy these days! Not to mention my balance isn't what it used to be ~ standing on one foot is a little more challenging. Other than that we are doing great.

4D Ultrasound....Amazing!

12/14/08: We had a 4D ultrasound done and we got to see our little girl floating around. Mom & Cary were visiting and got to see her as well. The place we went to did a 15 minute "show" and then made us a video and disc of the pictures that we could take home and watch over and over again (we've already watched it 2 times since yesterday)! The pictures are great but the video is really amazing to see.

We've attached some of the 4D images. She had her foot up by her head pretty much the entire time and looked as though she was trying to eat it! In the very last shot, you can see her hand perfectly against her face (and we counted 5 fingers)- that one is my favorite. Nathan thinks she has an unusually large thumb, we'll have to wait and see if that's true!

Growing Belly- 27 Weeks

12/14/08: She's definitely been growing and I'm getting bigger too! She now measures 14 and a half inches long and weighs almost 2 pounds! She weighs the same as a head of cauliflower. I bought my first pair of maternity pants this weekend since my regular pants are starting to get a little tight around the waist! I'm sure this belly is just getting started as we have 3 more months to go! See above blog for pictures of her inside the belly! We did a 4D ultrasound today and it was pretty amazing.

Growing Belly- 26 weeks

12/7/08: She's now grown to 14 inches long (same as an English Hot House Cucumber) and 1 & 2/3 pounds! She's getting bigger and I am too! Not too much new has happened this last week.

She's still kicking around in there. Jody came down for a visit this weekend and got to feel her move!

Growing Belly- 25 weeks

11/30/08: I can't believe we only have about 15 weeks to go! She's now 13 and a half inches long and weighs 1 and a half pounds (the same weight as a rutabaga). What's a rutabaga you ask- well you got me, but it looks like a big root.

We had a great Thanksgiving with family and the baby even got to dance a little (now you know I can't resist dancing with Kristin to the Devil Went Down To Georgia)! Till next week...

Growing Belly- 24 weeks

11/23/08: She is now 12 inches long (a whole foot) and weighs about 1 1/2 pounds. She's the size of an ear of corn!

Everything is still going great- she's moving around a lot and ready to eat a big Thanksgiving feast next week! I've been feeling a little more tired at night and go to bed a little earlier than normal, but otherwise have been doing good. Have a great Thanksgiving!

Growing Belly- 23 Weeks

11/16/08: She now measures over 11" long (the size of a small doll) and weighs over 1 pound (the same weight as a large mango)! She's really been moving around a lot lately. Nathan felt her kick for the first time last week (11/13/08). It was pretty amazing and he was so excited! We're also starting to see my stomach move when she's active.

I had another doctor's visit on the 14th and everything checked out good. Her heart was beating strong and all the ultrasound tests came back healthy. As you can see, I'm really starting to pop out now! Till next time...

Ultrasound Pics

Here are some ultrasound pictures from our various doctor visits. It's amazing to see her grow from a tadpole to a little person! The first ultrasound picture was taken at 11 weeks, then 13 weeks, then at 19 weeks. The last three pictures are her skeleton face, her foot pushed up against the top of my stomach and then the revealing picture that told us she is a girl (3 little lines)!

Growing Belly- 22 Weeks

11/10/08: She's growing! She is now the size of a spaghetti squash at 11 inches long and 1 whole pound! I've been feeling her move around in there, especially after I eat.

Growing Belly- 21 Weeks

11/1/08: She's now the size of a carrot and weighs a whopping 3/4 of a pound! She's 10 1/2 " long and has been moving around a lot more this week. I've been feeling little movements that feel like bubbles popping inside my belly! It's pretty neat to feel her move around in there. 'Till next week...

Growing Belly- 20 weeks

10/26/08: The baby's the size of a banana.
She's 6.5 inches long (head to bottom) or 10" long (head to toe) and weighs in at about 10.5 ounces! They can now measure her from head to toe now that her legs aren't as curled up around her body. This will be how she's measured from here on out.

We're half way to the finish line!

Growing Belly- 19 weeks

10/19/08: The baby's the size of a large heirloom tomato.
It's 6 inches long and weighs in at about 8.5 ounces!

Growing Belly- 18 weeks

10/12/08: The baby's the size of a bell pepper.
It's 5.5 inches long and weighs in at about 7 ounces!

It's 5 inches long and weighs in at about 5 ounces!

9/28/08: The baby's the size of an avacado.
It's 4.5 inches long and weighs in at about 3.5 ounces!

9/20/08: The baby's the size of an apple.
It's 4 inches long and weighs in at about 2.5 ounces!

9/13/08 : The baby's the size of a lemon.

It's 3.5 inches long and weighs in at about 1.5 ounces!

It's a girl!

10/16/08: It's official!

After many hard months of work...
We are excited to say
A baby girl is on her way!

She's due to arrive March 11, 2009

We can't wait to meet her!
